SENIOR LICENSING AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, Technology Licensing Office
The Senior Licensing and Business Development Officer is responsible for the commercialization of MIT's IP portfolio arising from research and activities on MIT's campus. This includes managing a large portfolio of cases, such as technology evaluation, marketing, outreach to faculty and industry, business deal term creation, and distribution of IP rights through sophisticated license agreements and other IP dissemination mechanisms.

RequirementsRequired:
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, physical sciences, or relevant field
- Minimum of seven years of licensing experience in academic, federal laboratory technology transfer, or industry business development and licensing
- Experience with commercialization of technologies, IP portfolio management, marketing and commercialization plans, and IP protection strategies
- Solid business relationships within relevant sectors
- Experience establishing license deal terms and negotiating license agreements
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and a collaborative approach
- Ability to understand complex licensing, legal, and business issues in university technology licensing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Judgment, prioritization, and discretion in managing a large workload
- Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, matrix environment
- Master's degree or PhD in life sciences, physical sciences, and/or MBA
- Maturity and sensitivity to the needs of multiple stakeholders in a complex academic environment
- Knowledge of intellectual property, high-level business acumen, and understanding of the intersection of US Government and academia

Salary range: $160,000 - $190,000
