Responsible for technical design, implementation, development and maintenance of Truven products. The programmer/analyst will work with lead researchers in developing and implementing specific analyses for projects. Strong technical skills, attention to detail and a collaborative attitude are needed in this role.
This position can be located in Ann Arbor, MI;
Bethesda, MD;
Cambridge, MA;
Durham, NC;
Santa Barbara, CA or Woodlawn, MD.
- Collaborate with researchers on project specific analyses.
- Design, code and test software to conform to analytic specifications while adhering to Truven software standards
- Write clear external and in-code documentation.
- Provide input and feedback on any analysis plans and specifications, including time/effort
- Maintain and improve current processes, and methodologies
- Perform other related duties as assigned by senior staff
- Candidate must have a strong knowledge and understanding of the SAS programming language
- 5+ years SAS programming as well as experience with healthcare claims data
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving and analytic skills
- Good at identifying and resolving any data issues
- Experience with Microsoft products
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Experience with formal specification and testing documentation.
- Able to work independently in a team environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Is able to collaborate well with members of team
- Is able to manage several tasks occurring concurrently
- Experience with data quality analysis
- Knowledge of other programming languages and/or packages as well as environments such as Unix
