Role OverviewWe are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing finance team.with good communication, problem solving and customer service skills.
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Cambridge, MA.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support audit documentation and process improvements
- Own end to end processing of vendor invoices within [AP system], ensuring accurate coding, approvals and timely payments.
- Manage global vendor set up and maintain accurate banking details with strong internal controls and fraud prevention awareness.
- Process domestic and international payments, including multi-currency transactions.
- Review hotel and other vendor invoices for contracted rates, dates of service, etc.
- Respond to internal and vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in the preparation of 1099 reports.
- Support month-end close activities related to AP.
- Assist with AP-related balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with VAT and other indirect tax requirements where applicable.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries and internal payment questions.
- Work with internal stakeholders and approvers to ensure timely invoice approval
- 2–5+ years of Accounts Payable and/or Staff Accounting.
- Strong understanding of AP processes and accounting fundamentals.
- Experience with multi-currency transactions preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with Quickbooks online and Expensify a plus.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Strong communication skills across teams and time zones.
