Paint Prep Technician

Join our dynamic, fast-paced and growing automotive repair shop as an experienced Paint Technician. We are seeking a skilled professional who is passionate about vehicle preparation and painting, with a focus on quality and efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for technicians looking to advance their careers in a high-production environment, with potential growth into painting roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sand and prep vehicles for painting, ensuring surfaces are smooth and ready for primer and paint application.
  • Tape and bag vehicles to protect areas not being painted.
  • Prepare and prime vehicles as part of the painting process.
  • Work on large vehicles, demonstrating the ability to handle diverse and challenging projects.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards.
Skills And Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1+ year of experience in vehicle prep, taping, bagging, and priming.
  • Ability to work on large vehicles with precision and attention to detail.
  • Previous painting experience is a plus but not required.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work extra hours as needed.
  • Ambition to develop into a painter role is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and team-oriented attitude.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 1+ year experience, this is not an entry level position.
  • Ability to work on larger vehicles such as F550's, utility bodies & work on ladders and similar as needed.
  • Ability to prep and prime vehicles with minimal direction or teaching. Primer time mandatory.
  • Ambition to become a painter is a plus, as you will have the opportunity as we expand & grow.
  • Paint experience is not required but is a plus. You will gain additional experience through gun & booth time.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under deadlines.
  • Must be a team player and willing to learn from fellow professionals/teammates.
