Maintenance Technician

Location:

Cambridge, MD (Calgaz) – Industrial Spec Gas

Contribute and Grow

Airgas is hiring a Maintenance Technician in Cambridge, MD.

Responsibilities
  • Comply with and support all Airgas Specialty Gases safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee both planned and unplanned maintenance activities within Calgaz Cambridge, MD.
  • Partner with Maintenance Manager, Project Managers, and regional Operations Director to maintain the maintenance plan, timeline, and execution strategy.
  • Execute preventive maintenance (PM) work orders on time for Calgaz Cambridge, MD.
  • Oversee activities of onsite contractors/vendors related to projects or maintenance.
  • Work closely with and involve Supply Chain Management in the sourcing of all contractor/vendor services.
  • Fully support, accurately complete, maintain, instill, and reinforce Airgas Specialty Gases Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Support engineering projects for Calgaz Cambridge, MD and assist engineering projects at Calgaz Cambridge, MD when required.
  • Document and track maintenance activity in the Intelex program.
  • Comply with all IMS/QMS guidelines and requirements as they relate to maintenance.
  • Recommend and implement maintenance program improvements at the Calgaz Cambridge Facility; work with counterparts in the other team members within ASG.
  • Interface with plant personnel to minimize production impact during projects or maintenance.
  • Support the Production Team with the manufacturing of HBC's and/or transfill orders.
  • Assist and support the Production Team to cover personnel gaps during vacations or illnesses.
Qualifications
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of industrial plant maintenance experience desired.
  • Ability to understand and comply with the established Quality System and to report any quality deficiencies.
  • Ability to understand and comply with all safety regulations and guidelines while on company and/or customer property.
  • Possess a full range of motion; ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to be on his or her feet for extended periods of time.
  • Strong communication skills in English and the ability to accurately perform basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Capable of travel (approximately 50% travel).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems within a production plant environment with the ability to maintain and repair systems as needed.
  • Strong experience maintaining and repairing pumps, vacuums, valves, piping, compressors; cryogenic liquid pump experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge, skills, and experience using a wide variety of tools and maintenance and repair equipment.
  • Computer savvy including Intelex, MS Word, MS Excel, Google, etc. PLC troubleshooting experience would be a plus.
