Job Description
MAJOR DUTIES:
The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key contributor to the Reporting and Compliance team within Cambridge life sciences systems business (>$500 Mn in Revenue). This role combines strong technical expertise with business acumen, focusing on financial reporting, planning, forecasting, and business partnering. The SFA will play a key role in month end close/reporting, reconciliations, cash forecasting, foreign exchange analysis, audits, and preparation of accurate and timely financial reports.
The role will report to the Finance Manager (Reporting and compliance).
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
FINANCIAL REPORTING AND ACCOUNTING
Supporting the Monthly reconciliation of any B/S accounts associated with the business unit.Developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives with respect to the finance processes within the ATS Code of Business Conduct.Responsible for ensuring that the Cambridge Systems Division financial reporting is in accordance with IFRS.Responsible for preparing audit working papers on a quarterly basis, ensuring that all accounts are reconciled.Intercompany reconciliations and reporting & assisting with other monthly corporate reportingAssisting with cash forecasting & Forecast foreign cash flows for determination of hedge settlementINTERNAL CONTROL, POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
Ensure adherence to IFRS and SOXWorking with internal and external teams to put in place strong financial controls and processes.Providing early warning of business and financial risks along with opportunities to allow accurate, timely information for business decisions.Reviewing and assessing areas of business risk within the division, and, working with the Manager Financial Reporting & Compliance to develop policies to minimize or eliminate that risk where possibleOperational SUPPORT
Supporting the bid approval process, working closely with account managers & the Director, ApplicationsEnsuring any financial risks are mitigated (credit/FX/transfer pricing/taxes) & building in cost of financing & EDC costs to any bidsSupporting Financial planning and budgeting processesQualifications
Education:
Degree in Finance or Accounting. Ideally have CPA designation or enrolled in CPA program.Experience & Requirements:
Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.A minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience is preferredAdvanced knowledge of ERP systems (JD Edwards preferred) and Microsoft OutlookSuperior Excel skills:
Pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas, modelling, etc.Ability to determine relevant information for the target audience to provide informational requirements in a meaningful manner.Must be hands-on, detail-oriented, able to consistently meet deadlines, and can conduct in-depth financial analysis and present it in a clear and concise mannerStrong organizational, planning, time management and problem-solving skills.
