Reporting to the Project Controls Director, the Project Controls Reporting Manager will be responsible for providing project controls support to Aecon’s ongoing mega-projects in the Nuclear sector. This Reporting Manager will play a vital role in supporting project performance monitoring and decision-making through accurate, timely, and insightful data reporting and analytics. The position involves integrating data from multiple systems, automating reporting processes, and developing interactive dashboards to track project progress, costs, and performance metrics across various functions such as cost control, scheduling, risk management, and earned value management (EVM).
This role follows a hybrid work model and involves frequent travel to Cambridge, Darlington, and Pickering, with occasional trips to Kincardine.
What You'll Do Here:
Overall responsibility for project's compliance to Aecon's Project Controls standards & applicable contract documentsDevelop a project-specific reporting management plan for incorporation into the Project Controls PlanLead data integration efforts, collating outputs from within Project Controls and external groups to create fit-for-purpose dashboards, utilizing appropriate data visualization tools & business intelligence toolsUtilize data science tools in data cleaning, data validation and normalization. Scrutinize & understand outliers, flagging any inconsistencies.Establish and maintain the project's integrated Project Controls systems, oversee the setting of the cost & schedule baselineLead meetings focused on communicating project performance status to the wider project teamSupport Project Managers in tracking overall project health; establish & maintain communication plan to ensure accurate and timely flow of informationProvide input into the continuous improvement of Aecon's Project Controls policies and guidelinesOversee analysis and reporting of project performance key metrics (e.g. CPI, SPI, key commodity tracking, etc.); propose corrective actions to maintain performance/productivity; provide timely alerts on adverse trendsImplement & maintain an Earned Value Management plan to measure project performance, identify variances, and inform accurate forecastingLead the development of project-specific Project Controls plans, documenting processes and procedures to be followed on the projectProvide support to Commercial & Procurement teams on subcontractor claims assessment, client claims development, negotiations & dispute resolutionsProvide commercial and technical expertise to support proposal development and provide commercial input into contractually defined project control requirementsEnsure adherence to all contract conditions regarding Project Controls requirements, project set-up, monitoring & close-outEstablish & maintain strong partnerships with client counterparts & joint venture stakeholders (where applicable)Create, promote, and maintain a safe, open & respectful workplace culture and environmentProvide feedback & guidance to direct reports for annual goal setting; support in the establishment of individual career development plans and in identifying training & professional development opportunitiesConduct annual performance reviews (with mid-year check-ins) & provide constructive feedback; implement performance improvement plans as needed with support from Human ResourcesParticipate in project-level resource planning, utilization analysis & resource leveling; manage & maintain Project Controls staffing plan forecastsLead project-level recruitment efforts for new Project Controls resources; communicate resource needs with senior leadershipWhat You Bring to the Team:
