Controls Specialist (Intermediate)  – Canada
About the Role  Step into a dynamic Controls Specialist role at Convergix Automation Solutions. You’ll tackle complex client challenges, design and deliver cutting‑edge solutions, and oversee high‑impact projects from concept to completion. Your expertise shapes superior client experiences as you collaborate with a passionate internal team to bring vision, energy, and intensity to every engagement.

Key Responsibilities   Work on electrical design, PLC programming, HMI design, SCADA systems, and troubleshooting/testing/debugging.
Develop project schedules and budgets in collaboration with clients and internal project management resources, ensuring project deliverables are completed to client satisfaction while fostering a culture of safety.
Participate in planning sessions that identify industry business drivers and trends, attend client field service and emergency calls, and share technical expertise at customer meetings.
Provide superior client experiences by partnering with your internal team to cohesively deliver vision, energy, and intensity that exceeds client expectations.
Qualifications and Experience   Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
2–5 years of experience in the Automation industry as an engineer, technologist, and/or project manager, technically delivering on projects.
Proven track record in design, procurement, programming, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of control systems including PLCs (Rockwell, Toyopuc, Siemens or similar), HMIs (Rockwell Plant PAX, Aveva InTouch/OMI, and others), instrumentation, VFDs and servos, and network design.

Experience with network architecture design, system virtualization, and AutoCAD/Electrical Design.
Strong client‑focused approach, excellent communication, and proven commitment to safety.
Reliable transportation; ability to travel within the US and Canada.
Desirable   Experience in the automotive industry.
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and develop a team.
Physical Demands   Stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear regularly.
Occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
