Position: Assistant Store Manager (Retail)

Overview

As an Assistant Manager at Boots Opticians you will lead and inspire your team to deliver an exemplary customer journey. You will work with the Store Manager to create and deliver the commercial plan to help the business grow and change for the better. Working across the whole store, your days will be full of variety, including customer service, store operations and clinical activities such as patient pre-screening, dispensing and accuracy checks.

You will manage a team with a variety of experience and clinical knowledge, helping them develop their knowledge, skills and future careers. This also includes completing management tasks such as creating and maintaining rotas, return to work reviews and performance management. We support you through our industry-leading Step into Optics training programme and leadership development opportunities to help you grow your career at Boots Opticians.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team with varying experience and clinical knowledge; support their ongoing development of knowledge, skills and career progression.
  • Manage store operations including creating and maintaining rotas, return to work reviews and performance management.
  • Contribute to delivering the store's commercial plan and delivering an excellent customer journey.
  • Participate in clinical activities as appropriate (e.g., patient pre-screening, dispensing, accuracy checks).
  • Engage with training programmes such as Step into Optics and other leadership development opportunities.
What you’ll need
  • Experience working in a customer facing role

  • Led or coached a team
