Senior Management Accountant (Qualified) - Interim

I am seeking a qualified Management Accountant to join my client, a fast-growing UK organisation within a dynamic and rapidly expanding industry. This is a senior, hands-on role where you will take full ownership of management accounting and financial control across several UK business units.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Final review and sign-off of monthly management accounts (P&L and Balance Sheet).
• Line management and development of Accounts Managers.
• Review, challenge, and enhance P&L reporting and key accounting judgements.
• Strengthen and oversee balance sheet reconciliations across UK entities.
• Ensure clear ownership across AP, AR, Payroll, and wider finance functions.
• Improve the accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of month-end reporting.
• Drive standardisation of processes, controls, and reporting outputs.
• Support the integration of acquired businesses into group systems and standards.
• Act as the escalation point for accounting, controls, and technical matters.

Required Skills &

Qualifications:

• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA).
• Strong background in management accounting and balance sheet control.
• Proven experience reviewing, challenging, and signing off management accounts.
• Experience mentoring or managing finance team members.
• Comfortable working in multi-entity, fast-paced, or transforming environments.
• Strong technical accounting skills and a control-focused mindset.
• Confident communicator with the ability to challenge constructively.
• Experience with Sage systems is essential (Sage 200 is nice to have).
