Trainee Accountant

Cantello Tayler Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a client based in Camberley, Surrey, for an excellent opportunity for a Trainee Accountant Apprentice to join a progressive and growing accountancy practice. This role offers full support towards studying the AAT qualification, alongside hands-on experience across a broad range of accounting and finance duties.

Ideal for a school leaver or early-career candidate looking to build a long-term career in accountancy.

Office based, Full Time - 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 9.00am-5.30pm)

Key Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping to trial balance
• Preparing VAT returns and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting with statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
• Supporting payroll processing and personal tax returns
• Assisting with audits
• Helping to document and improve systems and procedures
• General accounting and finance support as required

Candidate Requirements

• GCSE Maths and English (Grade 6 or above preferred)
• A Levels preferred (including Mathematics)
• Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Motivated, proactive and keen to learn
• Able to work accurately to deadlines

Training & Progression

• Formal AAT apprenticeship provided
• Opportunity to progress to ACA or ACCA qualification
• Broad exposure to practice and industry-style work
