Compensation: $30–33 per hour (case specific)

Schedule:

  • Mon‑Sun: 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. NOC
  • OR Fri‑Sun: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Responsibilities
  • Provide and document skilled nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, in accordance with the developed care plan and physician orders.
  • Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in compliance with physician orders.
  • Continuously observe and assess patient condition and care needs; report changes in condition to supervisor and/or physician as appropriate.
  • Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses, and coordination of care in a timely manner whenever care is delivered.
  • Participate, implement, and update the nursing care plan.
  • Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment and achieve expected outcomes.
  • Recognize changes in patient needs and responses requiring intervention and implement care to prevent risk or reduce risk.
  • Accept responsibility for personal and professional accountability by complying with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies, and the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Provide care utilizing infection control measures that protect both the staff and the patient according to OSHA standards.
  • Educate the patient and family regarding the disease process, self‑care techniques, and prevention strategies, and in meeting the patient’s nursing needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of competencies related to the nursing profession by participating in educational programs, continued education units, internal learning management skills and skill evaluations.
Qualifications
  • Must have and maintain an active, unencumbered California LVN license.
  • Current CPR certification (with hands‑on component).
  • TB skin test – 2 step (current within last 12 months).
  • One year prior hands‑on nursing experience.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures.
  • Continuing Education as required by state.
Additional State‑Specific Requirements
  • California – One year of experience required working under current nursing license.
  • South Carolina – One year of pediatrics experience.
  • Louisiana – One year of experience required working as a licensed nurse.
Physical Requirements
  • Speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Travel.
  • Lift 50 pounds.
  • Reposition patients and move equipment without assistance.
  • Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting.
  • Sit and climb stairs.
  • Visual and hearing acuity.
  • Strong sense of smell and touch.
  • Appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport.
Work Environment
  • Function in a wide variety of environments, which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions.
  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
