As the Field Supervisor, your role will be to support the quality, safety, and training functions of our Frontier Field Operations. You will be accountable for leading the service delivery efforts of our field technicians. A Copper and Fiber I&R background is preferred, along with strong leadership and collaboration skills are required as this position is responsible for the results from multiple markets throughout the state.
Strong communications skills are required as you will interface daily with internal and external departments.
This Field Supervisor is based in our Elk Grove, CA warehouse and travels throughout Northern California.
- Ensure staff have the resources and skills needed to support work initiatives.
- Support compliance through enforcement of standards, policies, and processes.
- Provide leadership and motivation to team members.
- Determine training requirements and promote an Always Be Coachable culture.
- Continue striving to better define and improve the company to achieve desirable results.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Perform documented post‑quality field inspections in assigned region.
- Perform real‑time documented safety and tools inspections in assigned region.
- Responsible for conducting and reporting a minimum of 30 inspections weekly.
- Conduct post‑on‑boarding training and support for technicians in the field.
- Aids in coaching and discipline as required by operations management.
- Prepares and presents topics of safety and quality for weekly tailgate meetings.
- Frequent travel within the region required.
- Duty Management work will be scheduled on a rotation basis and pager duty will be required.
- Requires varying tours and hours including possible mandatory overtime and holidays.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Previous experience managing teams within a telecom technical environment with typically 4+ years of experience.
- Strong skills and experience in employee development to include training, coaching, and mentoring.
- Computer skills are required including Excel, email, Word, and legacy systems.
- Working knowledge of installation and maintenance of residential and business services, Local Network processes, and a fundamental understanding of services and products offered by Frontier is preferred.
- Working knowledge of the splicing and construction process for the telecommunication industry.
- Working knowledge of Contractor relations.
- Candidate must have the ability to work in a consultative manner with others, i.e. establish rapport, interview, fact‑find, present options, recommend solutions, follow‑up and customer focused behavior.
- Previous experience in a multi‑tasking, result oriented position in a deadline focused department.
- College level education. Experience may be used in lieu of education. 5+ years related experience.
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
- 2+ years of experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of POTS and HSI.
- Proven ability to negotiate time frames for completion and meet critical deadlines.
