Key Responsibilities
  • Data Driven Analysis:
    Support customers with insights from analyzing DoD Test & Evaluation data; develop data‑driven decision analysis products using data science, machine learning, and operations research methods.
  • Data Mining:
    Use a variety of data mining and analysis methods, access data stored in multiple storage paradigms, develop models with statistical and machine‑learning approaches, implement workflows in Python or R, and produce reports.
  • Analytic

    Experience:

    Provide analytic consulting services, support workflow and product development, promote user adoption of best practices, identify process or workflow optimization opportunities.
  • Customer‑Facing

    Experience:

    Serve as the face of the CHEETAS Team, ensuring stakeholders have the analytical tools, data products, and reports needed for insights.
  • Stakeholder Assistance:
    Collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders to identify analytic requirements and questions from large data sets collected during test events.
  • Communication:
    Drive decisions through written and presented data‑based insights at both programmatic and technical levels.
  • Technical Support:
    Run and operate CHEETAS and related tools on‑site; demonstrate tools to stakeholders and VIPs, adapt tools, gather use cases, and provide feedback to the development team.
  • Independent Work:
    Work independently with little supervision, using diverse methods and models to evaluate courses of action.
Work Environment
  • Location:

    Onsite
  • Travel Requirements: 25% travel, potentially up to 50% for DoD ranges & labs across the US.
  • Working Hours:

    Standard.
Basic Qualifications
  • Security Clearance:
    Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Education:

    Advanced degree in operations research, engineering, applied math, statistics, computer science or IT; preferred 10+ years of DoD experience.
  • DOD Specific

    Experience:

    5–10 years of DoD experience considered on a case‑by‑case basis.
  • Experience:

    Working with end users, gathering requirements, operating data analysis tools, developing analytic products with DoD‑specific data types.
Qualifications Required
  • Experience with Python and R for data processing, analysis and visualization.
  • Experience using Jupyter or RMarkdown notebooks to create reproducible products.
  • Experience with interactive visualization tools (RShiny, py Shiny, Dash).
  • Experience generating and presenting reports, visualizations and findings to customers.
  • Experience with supervised and unsupervised methods for time series and geospatial data.
  • Experience with Windows, Linux and containers.
  • SQL database querying.
  • Ability to make insightful recommendations based on data‑driven analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written communication with customers and teammates.
  • Ability to present findings to large groups.
  • Documentation and repeatable procedures.
  • Training novice end users on tools.
  • Self‑motivated to design, develop, enhance, reengineer or integrate software applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of DoD experience.
  • Experience as a military ORSA.
  • Experience in government/defense labs with computing restrictions.
  • Knowledge of military force structure, tactical messaging.
  • Experience with Major DoD experimentation events (JADC2).
  • Experience with major DoD acquisition programs (JSF).
  • Knowledge of TENA, JMETC, distributed testing and training.
  • Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies.
