We are accepting applications on an on-going basis for future consideration for part-time instructors in this discipline at any of our three colleges (Oxnard, Moorpark, and Ventura). Applications submitted to this pool will be kept on file for the Summer 2025, Fall 2025, and Spring 2026 semesters and may be considered if a vacancy becomes available within the academic year. If you have applied to previous pools in this discipline, you will need to apply to this pool to continue to be considered.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Under the general direction of a dean, provide comprehensive classroom instruction to students from diverse backgrounds to facilitate attainment of academic or vocational objectives.
- In accordance with Education Code sections 87482.5, Instructors may be employed up to 67% of a full-time assignment.
- Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, other higher education institutions, lifelong learning resources, and effective study skills; refer students to support services and professionals as appropriate.
- Observe and evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, discussions, and examinations; provide timely feedback to inquiries in class, online, or during office hours.
- Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes to maximize student learning; implement student performance objectives as listed on the course outline of record.
- Maintain current records of enrollment, attendance, progress, course curriculum, and student learning outcomes; prepare data and reports related to progress in a timely manner.
- Evaluate and select instructional materials in collaboration with discipline faculty; order materials to ensure timely delivery.
- Revise and update course content and materials to reflect new theory and developments within the discipline or area of specialization.
- Update syllabi and collaborate with discipline faculty to assess and revise measurable student performance indicators for each course.
- May participate in curriculum and program development and provide input into student learning outcomes; may attend and participate in committees and department, campus, and district meetings; may participate in articulation and matriculation activities.

Minimum QualificationsCandidates must possess the minimum qualifications for the discipline as approved by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors.
Required qualifications include one of the following:
- Master’s in child development, early childhood education, human development, home economics/ family and consumer studies with a specialization in child development/early childhood education or educational psychology with a specialization in child development/early childhood education; OR
