Role Overview

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Contract Administrator based full‑time on‑site out of Camarillo, CA. The Principal Contract Administrator will support our team in a dynamic, fast‑paced program environment with the Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) u.

What You’ll Get To Do

The Contract Administrator will be responsible for performing a full range of contract functions for government contracting; contract administration and reporting and the formulation of various business agreements. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and be able to understand cost structures and estimates of labor, materials, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Excellent communication skills will be required for day‑to‑day interfacing directly with the NAWC‑WD customer and internally with multiple functional organizations, program management, and business management.

Responsibilities
  • Administers, extends, negotiates and terminates standard and nonstandard contracts.
  • Conducts proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Examines estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepares bids; processes specifications, progress, and other reports; advises management of contractual rights and obligations; compiles and analyzes data; and maintains historical information.
  • Administer the Streamlined Offer process. Release internal authorization to proceed, facilitate contract review of new awards and mods, support project set‑up based on funding received, and coordinate and manage all contractual direction and communication with customers.
  • Advise internal teams on markings requirements and assist in crafting appropriate agreements/terms to protect company intellectual property.
  • Monitor contract requirements and associated program funding and deliverables to ensure that contractual obligations are communicated, understood, and followed.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and government regulations.
  • Administer, negotiate, and perform closeout of contracts.
  • Maintain an open and healthy relationship with internal and external customer.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, business acumen, customer management and team building skills are essential.
