Maintenance Technician; range , Potential

Overview

Mechanic/Electrician - Chemical Industry (Pay range $72K - 96K, 4% Bonus Potential)

• Troubleshoots electrical equipment, PLCs, DCS and other controls
• Repairs Pumps, Valves, and other Process Equipment with minimal supervision
• Assists with root cause analyses (RCA) and other incident investigations
• Supports SAP management of spare parts, work orders, and other reports
• Supports plant EHS programs, PSM programs and other site initiatives
• Follows all plant policies and practices to ensure safety, quality, service, and cost objectives are met
• Practices continuous quality improvement in all processes and supports the goal of zero workplace safety incidents
• Knowledgeable of and practices root cause analysis
• Knowledgeable of and practices preventive and predictive maintenance
• Participates as a project team member and can lead small projects or sub-projects
• Practices safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines
• Repairs and maintains equipment and assets safely and efficiently
• Works with production/operations with knowledge of site products and equipment
• Understands maintenance processes, applications, and terminology related to manufacturing; daily use of hand and power tools; safely repairs electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems
• Performs basic welding, millwrighting, and reads blueprints and schematics
• Works cooperatively with all employees, vendors, and contractors
• Assists in maintaining an acceptable level of housekeeping
• Completes all required paperwork accurately
• Performs various troubleshooting and preventative maintenance duties to equipment as needed
• Works in other areas as needed
• Tracks performance against goals including uptime, downtime, mean time to failure, etc.

• This position works in a maintenance shop and production environment
• Demonstrates commitment to HES through high visibility and actions
• Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
• Participates in HES activities provided by site management and the company
• Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents

• Must be able to multi-task and efficiently operate in a stressful work environment
• Must have strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
• High level of detail and accuracy required

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 10+ years of experience required
• 5+ years experience with additional trade school certificates: welding, pipe fitting, millwright, electrical, PLC, HVAC
• Chemical plant experience preferred
• SAP experience preferred
• Proficient computer skills (Outlook, Word, SAP, Excel)
