Digital Production Intern

Pay:

$15-$25/per hour, depending on experience

15–20 hours per week

6 months (March or April start. Potential for full‑time employment)

Urban Ministries, Inc. (UMI) is the largest independent, African American‑owned and operated Christian media company. We publish Bible studies, Sunday School and VBS curriculum, books, films, and digital learning platforms used by churches and individuals across the country.

We are looking for a Digital Production Intern to support our AI archive project and digital content platforms. This role offers hands‑on experience in digital publishing, content management, and emerging AI workflows.

From March through May, the position is fully remote and focused on digital organization and metadata. From June through September, the role transitions to working on‑site three days per week in Calumet City, supporting broader digital production projects.

• Enter and organize metadata for digital and print curriculum content
• Prepare files for upload into our digital archive
• Conduct quality checks for accuracy and organization
• Learn structured data and digital cataloging standards

• Assist with Word Press website updates
• Upload and organize online course and digital product content
• Support video production tasks and basic editing
• Help with email marketing setup and online promotions
• Implement basic SEO and meta descriptions
• Assist with plugin updates and routine website maintenance
• Support digital product inquiries and subscription workflows

• Interest in digital media, content production, or publishing
• Basic familiarity with Word Press or website platforms preferred
• Comfortable working with spreadsheets and online systems
• Strong attention to detail
• Organized and dependable
• Willingness to learn new tools, including AI‑driven systems
