Job Title: Recreational Therapist
Location: Correctional Facility in Calipatria, California
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract (6-9 months, with potential for extension)
Pay Range: $61.00 - $63.00 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Recreational Therapist to provide therapeutic and rehabilitative services in a secure clinical setting located in Calipatria, CA. This is a full-time contract role with the opportunity for extension or potential transition to a permanent state position offering full benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients' psychosocial, leisure, and recreational development needs
• Plan and implement therapeutic recreation interventions based on individualized care plans
• Teach coping strategies and stress management techniques to promote a balanced lifestyle
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition to the treatment team
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to track patient progress and adjust treatment objectives
• Apply advanced counseling techniques in group and individual therapy
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of therapy sessions and patient progress
• Utilize group processing and dynamics knowledge to lead effective therapeutic sessions

Required Qualifications

• Experience:At least 12 continuous months within the past 3 years providing direct patient care
• Certification:Valid National or California Recreational Therapist Certificate
• BLS Certification: Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
• Identification:Valid photo , Drivers License, or Passport
