Associate Transportation Planner
In District 9’s Transportation Planning Division, the Associate Transportation Planner (ATP) works at the journey level under the direction of a Branch Senior, a Senior Transportation Planner.
The ATP plans, develops, administers, evaluates, and monitors transportation plans, programs, and projects in the transportation planning process, integrating social, economic, environmental, transportation, and land use factors to support the implementation of a balanced State transportation program.
Key responsibilities include:
- Local assistance and community planning
- Regional and multi‑modal system planning, and state planning
- Freight planning, active transportation, health, and climate change initiatives
- Air quality, program project planning, and strategic investment planning
- Local development review, modeling, geospatial data analysis, and economics
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the state exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
