Certified Group Fitness Instructor (Part-Time)

Starting Pay: $18 (Based on Certifications)

Under the supervision of the Fitness Supervisor, provides group fitness instruction, monitors, educates patrons on fitness and safety, and maintains a safe and enjoyable environment for class participants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaches scheduled classes, starting and ending on time; provides warm-up, exercises, stretching, and cool down.

Instructs patrons on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques and demonstrates exercises, identifying muscle groups and teaching appropriate strengthening methods.

Prepares equipment, music, and handouts for each class.

Assists patrons, answers questions, and fosters a positive exercise experience.

Informs management of customer and facility needs.

Ensures safety standards and policies are followed.

Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have current CPR certification.
Must hold and maintain a nationally accredited certification (e.g., NETA, ACE, AFAA) or a recognized subscription program (e.g., Zumba, Silver Sneakers).
Knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology, training principles, and group fitness strategies.
Skills in choreography, music, cueing, and rhythm.
Professionalism and ability to motivate participants.
Ability to work well with staff and the public.
