The Athletic Coordinator will assist the Recreation Supervisor in the organization and management of City of Bishop sports programs.

DEFINITION
The Athletic Coordinator is familiar with various sports rules, knowledge of sports, or has prior sports participation, enjoys athletics, and has his or her own form of transportation. The Athletic Coordinator will assist the Recreation Supervisor in the organization and management of City of Bishop sports programs. Effective communication skill to work with adults involved in the sports programs, and team managers.
Supervision- Receives general supervision from the Recreation Supervisor.
- May exercise functional and technical supervision over managers, teams, facilities, referees, and park patrons.
- The Athletic Coordinator is responsible for the management and supervision of the City of Bishop sports league programs for both youth and adult participants.
- Must be able to keep score, read schedules, rules, and understand the overall knowledge of the game of basketball, softball, baseball, and soccer
- Athletic Coordinators are asked to constantly supervise & communicate with parents, managers, referees, and players
- Responsible for taking care of each facility and able to transport equipment to venue locations that are assigned.
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older and have experience in organized sports
- Must be able to supervise the activities, as well as staff and patrons.
- Have experience in managing or administrating some type of sports program.
- Must have a personal vehicle in order to transport sports equipment to and from facilities.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California driver’s license.
