QUALIFICATIONSCurrently enrolled in a master's degree program in school social work at an accredited school of social work.
REPORTS TODirector of Student Support Services
JOB GOALAs a member of a multi-disciplinary team provides diagnostic, consultive and therapeutic services which will enhance the optimum learning benefits of the student.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL)- Attend and participate in MTSS Social Emotional Meetings.
- Provide SEL RtI support (individual and group).
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings.
- Provide IEP minutes (individual and group).
- Participate in data collection for IEP students and/or Tier 2 students.
- Experience life skills and social/emotional focused classrooms/programs.
- Provide Tier I SEL lessons to General Education Students.
- Attend and participate in weekly district social work team meetings.
- Attend and participate in district related service meetings.
- Attend and participate in special education department meetings.
- Participate/observe in IEP evaluations, goal writing, Functional Behavior Assessments & creation of Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Observe Autism Evaluation (ADOS) and play based assessment (PBA).
- Collaborate with parents and outside resources.
- Participate in professional development opportunities.
- Support the assessment process for referred students by assisting with appropriate evaluations and screenings.
- Contribute to social developmental histories and comprehensive case study evaluations.
- Participate in identifying students who may benefit from social work services and interventions.
- Assist in providing consultation and in-service training for school staff, parents, and students.
- Support the delivery of direct social-emotional and behavioral services to students.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote a coordinated, student-centered approach.
- Assist school personnel in developing programs and strategies to address unmet student needs.
- Help connect students and families with appropriate community resources and support services.
- Stay informed about current policies, regulations, and best practices in school social work and special education.
- Assist in outreach and support services for parents and caregivers on behalf of students.
- Work to identify school and community factors impacting student well-being and participate in problem-solving efforts.
- Maintain accurate, organized documentation to support IEP development and other service planning.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the school's social work program.
Minimum of 4 days per week during the 180 day school year, 7:50am-3:40pm. Salary and fringe benefits recommended by the Board of Education.
EVALUATIONAnnual Performance Evaluation will be conducted in accordance the university requirements.
