Salary Range 39: $22.99-$27.95/hour (Senior Level) Salary Range 41A: $25.64-$31.16/hour

Under general supervision and at the direction of the Community Development Director. This is a journey level classification. Incumbents perform a variety of duties in the maintenance and repair of County buildings, and related machinery and equipment. Assignments involve painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, janitorial, mechanical repair, removing snow from County parking lots and related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Any combination of training and experience which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be at least (2) years in the building and maintenance work in another government agency or varied multi-building position.
  • Possession of a valid California/Nevada Class driver’s license.
  • At least (3) years of experience in building trades and maintenance work, including one (1) year in the mechanical operation, maintenance, and repair of heating and air conditioning systems and electrical control devices. Completion of a Heating/Air Conditioning Program will substitute for the one-year heating and air conditioning experience requirement.
Compensation & Benefits
  • 100% FTE in a five-step salary system with advancement upon satisfactory completion of a one‑year probationary period and annual increases thereafter.
  • Health Insurance:
    County provides medical, dental and vision coverage for employees with co‑payment by employees, dependent upon family status.
  • Vacation:
    Accrued at the rate of 6.67 hours per month, or 10 vacation days per year.
  • Sick Leave:
    Earned at the rate of 8 hours per month.
  • Holidays: 15 paid holidays per year.
  • Retirement:
    Participation in the California Public Employee Retirement System (PERS), 2% at 62 plan for New Members.
  • Deferred Compensation:
    Voluntary deferred compensation program offered.
