Installation Technician, Electrician/ Electrician Installation
THE POSITION
The Electrician Journey-level installs new electrical systems and repairs existing electrical systems while maintaining compliance with national, state and local electrical codes along with all CICC policies and procedures. The incumbent is expected to work in accordance with the mission, purpose, and values of the Colusa Indian Community Council.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIESTo perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable incumbents with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Work in compliance with local, city, state, and national electrical codes;
- Properly read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams;
- Gather appropriate material for daily tasks;
- Install conduits using a hand, mechanical, or hydraulic bender;
- Install new wire in existing systems or repairing old wiring;
- Provide power and controls to motors, HVAC, and other equipment;
- Install fire alarm, security, lighting control, data/telecom, and energy management systems;
- Mount panel boards, transformers, switch gear, transfer switches, and other various types of equipment;
- Troubleshooting and repairing all systems;
- Will assist in all aspects of electrical work including residential and commercial;
- Install numerous types of electrical material, overhead and underground, Romex, M/C cable, conduit, and pull all types and sizes of wire;
- May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position.
Education:
High School Graduate or equivalent
Experience:
Five (5) years of related electrical experience
Licensing and Other
Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age;
- Must possess a valid California Class C driver’s license.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES- Able to do plan take-offs.
- Knowledge of electrical materials used for projects.
- Hand tool and power tool experience relating to electrical work.
- Experience with heavy equipment such as a forklift, scissor lift, and backhoe.
- Committed to safety with the ability to enforce safety practices on every project.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to read electrical plans and specifications.
- PLC/HMI Experience.
- Ability to be flexible with work schedule.
- Knowledge of electrical work, residential, commercial and industrial.
- Sense of urgency toward project completion.
- Dedicated hard worker with ability to report to work on a daily basis.
- Ability to layout and work with crew.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
- Will be required to stand, stoop, bend, twist, reach and/or kneel.
- May be required to move or lift supplies up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Must work efficiently on ladders 4ft to 12ft, including extension ladders.
- Underground applications and hand digging will be required.
