Diesel Mechanic to join the team at our location in St. Helena, CA
!
The schedule will be Monday-Friday
7am-3:30pm. Schedule is subject to change seasonally as needed.
The pay range for this job category is $34-36 per hour, depending on experience. We also offer great family benefits, a 401k, paid vacation, etc.
Responsibilities Include:
Inspects and repairs vehicles with diesel engines
Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes along with minor and major repairs from brakes, A/C, hydraulics, electrical, welding, engine replacement, transmissions, etc.
Interprets diagnostic test results accurately
Writes detailed inspection reports and repair plans in our system
Collaborates with other diesel mechanics
Completes test drives to make sure the vehicle runs correctly
Uses power, machine, and hand tools safely
Communicate with drivers for issues in morning and afternoon
Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards
Follows all Waste Connections repair shop regulations and standards
Qualified candidate must have:
- 5+ years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Tool set, tool box and proper personal safety equipment required
Basic computer skills and ability to learn test diagnostic laptop and software
Class B CDL preferred, ability to obtain one is required
Clean driving record
Welding experience a plus
Minimum of a High School diploma or GED
