This is a skilled position in the maintenance and repair of wind turbine mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.

This role is based in North Palm Springs, CA. The address of the site is: 19435 Ruppert St. North Plam Springs, CA 92258

• Assists in performing routine preventive maintenance on wind turbine mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Recognizes occurrences of wind turbine error codes and appropriately reports the problem.
• Demonstrates the ability to learn the aspects of defect detection and repair of the wind turbines.
• Demonstrates the ability to learn the aspects of heavy equipment, crane rigging, and directing.
• Completes required reports and other paperwork.
• Maintains accurate care of tools and vehicles.
• Maintains adherence to Company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices.

• Experience in wind generation strongly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics a plus
• Ability to understand and follow customary instructions to perform the essential functions of the position in a satisfactory manner.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to understand problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations and report them to the appropriate supervisory personnel.
• Ability to work with minimal direction/supervision, given accurate instructions.
• Ability to work in mechanically and electrically oriented situations.
• Basic knowledge of the use of various hand tools.

• Must maintain a valid CA driver's license.
• Knowledge in technical trade (maintenance, electrical, instrumentation and/or operations) is strongly preferred.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; particulate matter and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to hazardous chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to pass a background check, physical exam, and drug/alcohol screening.
• Must be able to climb and work atop freestanding wind turbine towers that exceed 200 and 300 feet in height.
• Must be able to meet the maximum ladder rung weight rating for climbing (250lbs).
• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.

• Winter: 6am-2:30pm (Overtime as needed)
• Summer: 5am-1:30pm (Overtime as needed)
• Revolving on-call weekend shifts required
