Job Description
We are looking for a Maintenance Journeyman Millwright or Machine Repairman. This person will do many types of mechanical maintenance work in different plants for our company. You will usually work in pairs to complete projects and tasks. Your main job will be to keep the machines running well so that we can meet our production goals. You will also perform regular maintenance and fix problems to reduce downtime.
Responsibilities- Check, maintain, fix, replace, or build equipment and tools to keep production going and ensure high-quality results.
- Write down and document work orders to show what steps you completed.
- Troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment to minimize downtime.
- Perform complex repairs and installations on machines.
- Be skilled in laser alignment and able to perform dual reverse alignments.
- Install, maintain, and fix piping, pumps, valves, fans, dryers, conveyors, and other machinery specific to each facility.
- Practice proper rigging techniques and weld pipes, structures, and equipment as needed.
- Perform scheduled maintenance as planned and during outages.
- Follow safety rules and procedures to help prevent accidents.
- Be aware of the safety hazards in the work area and how to manage them.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completed an apprenticeship program, technical trade school, or equivalent certification.
- Have 3 to 5 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience.
- General understanding of maintenance techniques.
- Experience with rotating equipment and solving related problems.
- Valid CA Driver’s License.
- MIG and TIG welding certification preferred.
- 6G welding certification strongly preferred.
- Preferred licenses may include class A, B, or C (may or may not include airbrake endorsement).
- Experience in heavy industry.
- Must be skilled in measuring and installing bearings with high precision.
- Hands‑on experience with crushers and conveyor systems, including repair and maintenance.
- Perform scheduled maintenance to prevent downtime and extend equipment life, using tools like vibration analysis and laser alignment.
- Capable of diagnosing mechanical problems and making custom parts in an industrial/mining setting.
- Must follow safety standards to maintain clean, organized work areas and help create a safe maintenance culture.
