NEBCO, Inc. d/b/a Quarry Oaks Golf Club (“Company”), needs 8 temporary Golf Course Maintenance Laborers from 04/01/2025 – 11/30/2025 at 16600 Quarry Oaks Drive, Ashland, NE 68003. Work is full-time;
Monday – Saturday; 5:45 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.; at least 43.5 hrs/week;
Company uses a single workweek as the standard for computing wages due; workers paid every week. Pay is at least $19.59/hr – $22.30/hr (higher rates possible based on experience or skill) with applicable benefits. Workers are eligible for overtime pay of at least $29.39/hr – $33.45/hr, equal to one and one‑half times the regular hourly rate for all hours over 40 in a given workweek, which may be available based on weather conditions and business needs (historic average is approximately 5–10 hours per week in peak of busy season).
If requested by workers, Company will assist with securing adequate housing for the temporary season plus utilities in employer‑owned and/or employer‑rented housing at a rate of approximately $138.56 per person per pay period. Company will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law, plus $138.56 per person per pay period for housing expenses for employees who choose them.
Job duties include the following:
- Operate riding mowers to mow greens, tees, collars, approaches to greens, roughs, and fairways to departmental standards.
- Edge, maintain, and rake sand traps by hand and with a power rake.
- Operate a weed‑eater to trim around trees, fences, and other areas.
- Aerate greens and tees, verti‑cut tees and greens, spike greens, and operate a sod cutter.
- Fertilize greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
- Maintain gasoline, oil, and other equipment fluid levels daily and report equipment problems and failures to the Equipment Technician.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment as directed and return equipment to the designated maintenance facility.
- Drive a utility vehicle to haul materials and refuse.
- Change pins and rotate tee markers as required.
- Remove and replace worn and damaged turf.
- Remove on‑course garbage.
- Observe and report turf condition when it is not in good condition.
- Top‑dress greens and tees by hand and with motorized equipment.
- Use a push mower to mow the clubhouse lawn area.
- Pull weeds and maintain flower beds and ornamental plantings.
- Operate riding mowers, small utility vehicles, and standard pickup trucks; utilize hand tools such as rakes, shovels, sod cutter, aerators, and weed‑eaters.
Company will provide all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job at no charge. Transportation costs (including subsistence and, if necessary, lodging) from the place of recruitment to the place of employment will be reimbursed upon arrival (subject to repayment to Company if the worker does not complete at least one‑half of the employment period). Company will reimburse H‑2B workers in the first workweek for all visa, visa‑processing, border‑crossing, and other related fees that are actually incurred by the workers (other than those fees primarily for the benefit of the workers).
Upon completion of the work contract or if a worker is dismissed earlier, Company will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment.
The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88/day during travel up to $59.00/day with receipts. Company guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three‑fourths of the workdays in each 12‑week period of the total employment period.
Must have a valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one as of the first day of employment.
