Supervises: This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
Shifts: Afternoon/Evening shifts on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday (15 hours per week). (Shifts are subject to change based on club needs.)
Job Summary (Essential Functions)Responsible for maintaining the clubhouse facilities and equipment to the highest standards of quality and presentation expected at the Club. Duties include general maintenance and repair work involving plumbing, painting, minor electrical, flooring, door and window maintenance, and roof and ceiling upkeep to ensure a safe, well-functioning, and visually appealing environment for members and guests.
Job Tasks/Duties- Performs general maintenance and repairs on plumbing fixtures, furniture, woodwork, electrical systems, appliances, ventilation systems, and overall building structures.
- Maintains and services air conditioning units, refrigerators, ice machines, and exhaust ventilation systems.
- Conducts routine preventive maintenance (PM) in accordance with the Club’s PM procedures and schedules.
- Installs tile and drywall; performs grouting repairs, wall patching, and brick paving.
- Repairs small motors and mechanical equipment as needed.
- Assists with event setup and breakdown, ensuring facilities and equipment are properly prepared and restored to club standards.
- Participates in departmental meetings and collaborates with other team members to support Club operations.
- Completes other assignments as directed by the Facilities Director or Maintenance Supervisor.
- Working knowledge of multiple trades with the ability to diagnose and complete minor repairs to electrical outlets, lighting ballasts, and plumbing fixtures.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools used in general maintenance.
- Experience in the maintenance and installation of wood and tile flooring.
- Skilled in interior and exterior painting and finishing.
- Ability to replace window glass and repair or replace door hardware and locks.
- Commitment to maintaining the Club’s high standards for cleanliness, safety, and member satisfaction.
- Ability to perform assigned duties during emergency situations or when unexpected maintenance needs arise.
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.
- Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and cleaning or maintenance chemicals.
- Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, heights, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, and vibration.
- Must be able to lift, bend, climb, stoop, and pull on a regular basis; frequent repetitive motions required.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to loud.
- Must be capable of performing the physical tasks typical of a maintenance role in a private club setting.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Post-secondary vocational or technical training in electrical, HVAC, or refrigeration preferred.
- Minimum of three years of general maintenance experience in a private club, hospitality, institutional, or commercial facility environment.
