Deployable Staff Maintenance Trainer - R
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking an experienced Staff Maintenance Trainer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Edwards AFB, CA with duties performed at both Palmdale Plant 42 and Edwards AFB, CA.
Responsibilities- Perform and oversee aircraft maintenance training content development and sustainment using engineering procedures and published process documents.
- Draft, edit, and produce materials for self-guided and practical instruction.
- Conduct classroom and practical instruction to provide technical knowledge for safe maintenance, repair, and operation of aircraft, aircraft systems, ground equipment, tools, test equipment, stores, and facilities according to established procedures.
- Analyze current operating problems and future operating requirements to identify training needs and develop training programs.
- Provide subject matter expert (SME) assistance and support to all divisions in determining current and future training needs and developing and managing their maintenance training programs.
- Lead a small team of Maintenance Trainers in training content development, delivery, and sustainment in multiple locations.
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of related job experience; or a Master’s degree with 10 years of related job experience; or a PhD with 8 years of related job experience or 16 years experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience as a military or civilian maintenance trainer.
- Experience in military or civilian aircraft maintenance.
- Experience in training content development, delivery and instructional design methodologies.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Learning Content Management Systems such as Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate, and Learning Management Systems such as Learning Exchange.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead small teams for training projects with minimal management oversight.
- Must maintain required medical/training qualifications for worldwide travel as a condition of employment.
- Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance.
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance;
- Bachelor's Degree;
- Formal Military or Civilian Training Instructor Certification/Degree;
- Experience in courseware development/ISD/ADDIE modeling;
- Experience with Articulate Storyline and/or Adobe Captivate products.

Additional InformationMust be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include alternate/second shifts, extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.
TravelMandatory 25% annual travel requirement as a condition of employment.
Security ClearanceMust have an active DoD Secret or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
