Chemist, GC​/MS

Overview

The application chemist will work with the technical manager at our client company, supporting and representing their flagship technology. The apps chemist will develop solutions involving sample preparation, sample introduction, and GC-MS analysis to showcase the capabilities of the company's instrumentation across a wide range of markets, including but not limited to the Environmental, Food/Bev, Flavor/Fragrance marketplace.

Location:
Based in Sacramento, CA area office. Relocation assistance is possible

• Create & execute application work plans to showcase our products for marketing collateral and sales support
• Develop & validate new applications for company platforms including sample handling & preparation, complete method development & specification etc.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation including third party GC-MS
• Provide technical support and training through demonstrations and presentations for customers, sales, and field service engineers on new applications
• Travel as needed but limited to an estimate of 20%-30%

• BA/BS or higher in chemistry or similar discipline
• Experience in running, maintaining, and developing analytical methods using GC-MS
• Experience in the Environmental, Government, Food/Bev or Flavor/Fragrance industries aPlus
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
