This position is part of the leadership team for the Wicomico Civic Center Food Service Division, and includes direct oversight of all catering setups and all beverage operations. Responsible for staffing, training, ordering, tracking inventory, reporting, developing menus, adhering to safe food handling and preparation guidelines, expediting food, maintaining financial controls, among other duties. The position reports to the Civic Center Manager and may be asked to assist in other Food Service duties within the Department, as needed.
Required to work nights, weekends and holidays as dictated by the schedule of contracted events.
High School Diploma or GED required;
Knowledge of the food industry, including the safe storage, preparation and serving of food and beverage according to rulesand regulations of the Wicomico County Health Department;
Ability to order and deliver services for large food service functions;
Ability to effectively communicate and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members and members of the public;
Ability to assist with menu planning, keeping menus updated and current with dining trends;
Required to work nights, weekends and holidays as dictated by the schedule of contracted events; A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications; and Ability to pass drug test and background check.
