Job Summary / Basic Function

Working in all phases of the plumbing trade to include, but not limited to:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

This position is considered an essential personnel position.

1. Working on sinks:

• unclogging sinks

• mounting faucets

• hooking up traps

• changing washers

• changing shut offs

• mounting sinks on walls

2. Repairs to toilets:

• mount toilets on wall

• mount toilet fixtures

• replace diaphragm

• replace vacuum breakers

• replace wax ring

• replace cone washer

• repairs or installation of replacement seats

• unclog toilets

3. Repairs to urinals:

• unclog urinals

• replace wax rings

• replace diaphragms

• replace cone washers

• replace vacuum breakers

4. Repairs to showers:

• unclog showers

• replace shower heads

• replace shower blocks

• replace shower handles stems

5. Repairs to bathtubs:

• unclog bathtub drains

• repair faucets

• repair drain lines

6. Unclog sewer lines utilizing:

• toilet augers

• electric snake

• acids

7. Fitting pipes for replacement purposes:

• soldering

• gluing

• Propress

• Pex

8. Water fountains:

• repair as needed

• replace mount and hook up

9. Utilizes the following equipment to accomplish tasks (but not limited to):power tools, electric snake, pipe threading machine, grinder, electric drill, and core bore. Hand tools, screwdrivers, hacksaws, channel locks, vice grips, wrenches, and vice.

10. Repair, installation and assembly of electric water heaters.

11. Laying pipe and new/replacement installations. Run various piping: soil pipe, cast iron pipe, plastic tubing, copper tubing, glass pipe. Includes measuring, cutting, threading, and assembly.

12. Continue water conservation methods already in place and assist in planning and implementation for future conservation.

13. Order all equipment, parts, and materials to satisfy job requirements.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Minimum of Education / Training Required Education Summary

A high school diploma or GED. Three or more years of trade experience as a plumber or plumber's apprentice. Thorough knowledge of plumbing systems maintenance and repairs.

Preferred Qualifications

Five years of experience in the plumbing trade, can be a combination of experience and training.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder height (1/3 of the time). Must be able to carry up to 100 lbs., via team lift, (1/3 of the time).Must be able to push/pull 50 lbs. (1/3 of the time). Additional requirements include Bending, Twisting, Kneeling, Squatting, Crawling, Climbing, Reaching out and up, Wrist-Turning, Pinching and Finger Manipulation (1/3 to 2/3 of the time).
