Position: Family Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant (Trinity)

Overview

This position is located at the Redding Rancheria Trinity Health Center in Weaverville, CA. The organization is a tribally operated Indian Health Services (IHS) facility. The role is open until filled and seeks a compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join a dedicated care team.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care within the scope of a family practice PA/NP, including outpatient and low-risk obstetric care, meeting the needs of the local Native American population in the health service area.

Consult with physician medical staff on complex patient care issues.

Manage and document patient care in the Electronic Medical Record, including patient visits, electronic prescribing, and order management.

Provide health education with each patient encounter.

Assist in the development of Standards of Care for the medical department.

Provide required federal and state ambulatory patient care data on appropriate forms.

Obtain appropriate consultations when problems are outside the scope of practice or unfamiliar in a particular aspect of patient care.

Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities, including department and provider meetings, case management, Drug Utilization and Review, clinical audits, and peer review.

Advise the Medical Department Management Team of situations that may affect department efficiency.

Qualifications / Requirements

Family Nurse Practitioner:
Graduate of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program with a current and valid RN license.
Physician Assistant:
Graduate of an accredited PA program with a valid PA certificate.
Current and unrestricted medical license and DEA license.
CPR or ALLS certification preferred.
Must be fingerprinted and pass a background check.
Indian preference.
