Job Overview
Our small family farm is looking for a dedicated and experienced Harvest Crew Lead. This position plays a supportive role in the smooth running of farm operations, ensuring that the farm’s daily activities and administrative functions are carried out efficiently. This position involves collaborating closely with the farm owner to implement the farm’s strategy, manage resources, and optimize productivity.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations of the farm, including planting, irrigation, harvesting, and livestock care to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Implement pest and disease management strategies to protect crops and livestock health.
- Coordinate with the farm owner to develop and manage the farm budget, including tracking expenses and forecasting needs.
- Supervise farm workers, including hiring, training, and assigning tasks to ensure high-quality work and adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain and repair farm equipment and infrastructure, scheduling regular maintenance and addressing any malfunctions promptly.
- Monitor environmental and weather conditions to make timely adjustments to farming practices, ensuring crop and animal well-being.
- Engage with local communities and stakeholders to promote the farm’s products and establish beneficial relationships.
- Research and apply sustainable farming practices to enhance soil health, conserve water, and reduce the farm’s environmental footprint.
- Previous experience in agriculture or related fields preferred
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Attention to detail and commitment to staying the duration of the season.
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
- Comfortable driving refrigerated van if needed.
- Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to work in all kinds of weather and on weekends and holidays as needed.
Season:
Beginning of May through End of October.
Work Days:
Typically M-F but may be flexible. Hours are typically 7am-2pm.
$20-22/hr DOE,
Farm fresh produce and eggs

About our farmWe are a small family orchard operation that dabbles in veggies, chickens, goats and flowers. We are 5th generation in our town and very involved with local organizations.
