Job Overview
A healthcare facility in Templeton is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to join the Operating Room (OR) team for a travel assignment. The RNFA will assist surgeons during operative procedures and provide perioperative patient care across multiple surgical specialties.
Schedule
- Shift: Day Shift
- Hours: 4x10-hour shifts
- Time: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Days: Monday – Friday
- Call Requirement:
- 1 night of call per week
- 1 weekend per month
Key Responsibilities
- Function as Registered Nurse First Assistant during surgical procedures
- Provide perioperative patient care in the Operating Room
- Assist surgeons during procedures including orthopedic, orthopedic totals, gynecology, and general surgery cases
- Maintain sterile technique and assist with surgical instrumentation
- Monitor patient condition during procedures and collaborate with the surgical team
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with hospital policies
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience in the submitted specialty
- Must have worked in the OR specialty within the last 3 months
- RNFA certification required
- Active California RN license
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Required
- CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) – Required
- Professional Liability Insurance – Required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Preferred
