Provides personal nursing care to the patient under the direction of a licensed registered nurse (RN). Performs tasks associated with activities of daily living including self-care needs. Reports patients’ status and concerns to the RN.
Job Requirements Education and Work Experience- High School Education/GED or equivalent:
Preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification:
Required - Phlebotomy Certification:
Preferred in CA and HI - Audiometry and vision training or certificate from CHDP:
Preferred in CA and HI - Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification:
Required
- Performs tasks associated with activities of daily living, including assisting with nutrition and hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning devices, restraints and restorative care.
- Takes vital signs including pulse and blood pressure.
- Helps patients with basic needs such as bathing, dressing and feeding.
- Performs clerical duties as needed; routes patient reports; uses organizational and prioritization skills to support unit operations; provides assessment data to the certified nurse within scope of practice (e.g., vital signs, patient responses).
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
