Material Handler, Forklift Operator

Location:
Verdi, Nevada Day Shift.
SUMMARY: The (Raw, Shipping, Subco, Quality) Material Handler loads/unloads/moves material to the appropriate staging areas with required identification. The Material Handler is licensed to operate all types of material handling equipment such as forklift, grade‑all forklift, pallet jack, and side loader in all capacities. The incumbent may also be required to use specialized material handling equipment such as modular tubs and racks.
GeneralDuties
- Demonstrating importance of the Weber Metals Safety Policy to the success of Weber Metals.

- Demonstrating knowledge and awareness of the Weber Metals Environmental Policy.
- Demonstrating knowledge and awareness of the Weber Metals Business Management System.
- Working in a team environment to meet target dates.
Job Duties
- Follow direction of the acting superior, lead man, and/or supervisor.
- Responsible for the safety, quality, and productivity of the work‑center.
- Responsible for knowing and achieving daily standard production and efficiency goals.
- Maintain clean and safe working environment; embrace a clean as you go policy.
- Learn the basic skills of the helper position which include but are not limited to:
- Using material handling equipment on a daily basis under supervision.
- Maintain said equipment via daily equipment checklists and report issues to a supervisor.
- Maneuver vehicles safely in congested areas.
- Physically load and unload raw material and scrap material from third-party vendors.
- Physically move incoming and/or outgoing raw, intermediate and discrepant material to and from the correct work centers.
- Plastic wrap, plastic band, or metal band completed pallets needing to be moved.
- Load/unload pallets or tubs physically by hand or with manipulators.
- Stack or take down racks safely as needed.
- Inspect and store pallets, tubs, boxes, modular racks etc. when not being used.
- Understand and execute processes in accordance to shop floor instructions and process procedures.
- Maintain clear traceability and piece counts on production orders being moved.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Novice level knowledge of material handling equipment.
