Full-time

• Read and understand shop drawings and determine what material needs to be assembled and/or marked for preparation.
• Read and understand shop drawings.
• Tack weld necessary steel components (e.g., stiffener plates, cap plates) that make up an assembly.
• Drill, cut, and shape steel members per shop drawing requirements, including flame cutting, notching, beveling, coping, magnetic drilling, etc.
• Layout, clamp, hold, tack-weld, and grind component parts to obtain required configurations and preparations for welding needs.
• Mark all welding symbols and lengths of welds.
• Deburr material using a grinder.
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Assemble beams, columns, and railings.
• Follow all safety rules.

• GED/High School Diploma (Not required).
• Minimum 2+ years of experience as a fabricator in a shop environment.
• Proficient with torch.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must be able to stand, twist, reach, and move around for long periods of time.
• Must know how to operate a grinder.
• Must be able to use a tap measure and have knowledge of material types.
• Math skills (geometry a plus).
• Must be certified in one of the four (FMAW, FCAW, FCAW-G, SMAW).
