SUMMARY
The Solar Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection and maintenance of site equipment and systems on multiple plants in a safe, reliable, efficient, and environmentally correct manner. Performs safe and reliable maintenance of the Solar PV and Battery facility equipment and other power plant systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Monitors and inspects all assigned equipment, determines the operating condition, performs routine cleaning, and makes minor repairs as required.
- Isolates equipment for maintenance activities in accordance with the safety clearance procedure.
- Reports normal, abnormal, or emergency plant conditions to site Leadership and Management. Takes all necessary corrective action(s) in accordance with established policy, procedure, or at the direction of site leadership.
- Executes site restoration after abnormal events and significant outages.
- Performs troubleshooting and operational systems and equipment resets, as applicable.
- Maintains neat, accurate logs and records obtained from routine inspections of operating equipment.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrate the ability to assist with maintenance and perform basic mechanical and electrical tasks.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and inspection instructions; procedure manuals; prints and engineering data; interpret charts, graphs and gauge scales; troubleshoot equipment and system problems; and interface with others. Have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, ability to use a radio, and be able to speak effectively before groups of people.
REASONINGABILITY & DECISION-MAKING SKILLS
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSValid CA Driver’s License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to spend considerable time sitting at a computer console. Frequently answering the phone or radio throughout a 12-hour shift. The team member is occasionally required to perform equipment inspections which may require kneeling or crouching. The team member must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Required to work a rotating shift with normal shifts up to 12 hours per day and will be required to work alone during night shifts and weekends. Overtime required as needed.
While performing the duties of this job, the team members can be exposed to hazards of operating power plants. The team member is frequently exposed to multiple computer screens, The team member is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat or cold temperatures.
