Overview

About The Role Clyde & Co is seeking a Paralegal to our Projects & Construction team in Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in a market-leading construction and infrastructure practice.

Team: Projects & Construction

The role will primarily involve transactional drafting and support work across a wide range of construction and development projects, working closely with partners, associates and clients.

The Team

The Projects & Construction team advises on the full lifecycle of major construction and infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally. The team has extensive experience drafting and negotiating a wide variety of project delivery agreements with contractors and consultants, as well as supporting the negotiation of principal project-level agreements with funders, landlords, advanced purchasers and tenants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the drafting, review and amendment of construction and project documentation, including consultant appointments and building contracts
  • Supporting transactional matters across a range of development and infrastructure projects
  • Carrying out legal research and due diligence
  • Assisting with document management, contract comparison and document production
  • Supporting fee earners with project coordination and matter management
  • Liaising with internal teams and, where appropriate, external parties
  • General paralegal and administrative support to the wider team
Skills And Experience
  • A law degree (or equivalent) is required; LPC, SQE or other postgraduate legal qualification is desirable but not essential
  • A strong interest in construction, infrastructure or projects work
  • Excellent drafting, written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with a willingness to learn
  • Competent IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office
