Education:

High School diploma, technical school graduation, or Associates degree in computer science, computer systems or equivalent education. Basic working knowledge of UNIX computer operating system is recommended. Two years' experience in computer operation and maintenance with LINUX, macOS, BSD, AIX, Solaris, or comparable computer systems is encouraged.

CompTIA Security+

Performs maintenance and operations on mission computer equipment. Ensures diagnostic testing is conducted on all data processing systems and peripherals. Reports status of any equipment status changes, modifications, and anomalies immediately to the Missile Warning Operations Crew Commander/Crew Chief (CMDR/CCH). Assures all configuration control procedures are followed. Assists in the maintenance of the magnetic media library. Supports space surveillance operations and testing.

Operates as MMCO (Maintenance Monitor Console Operator) as required. Immediately responds to all reporting requirements. Position requires shift duty.

• Responsibilities for Work of Others:

• Supervision Received:
  Works under the general supervision of the work center lead and Communication-Electronics Manager.

• Physical Tasks:
  Exerts limited physical energy. May have to handle 20-30 pound loads on occasion.
• Working Conditions:
  
  Computing center environment. May work extended hours or weekends. May travel overnight or on weekends. Shift work. Works within a military facility.

• Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Security clearance eligibility may be discussed during the interview phase.
• Employment and start date is contingent upon the candidate receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance.
