Job Summary

Rantec is hiring a Systems Administrator in Los Osos, California. Rantec is an upper‑tier designer and manufacturer of power supplies for military and aerospace markets, with expertise in all aspects of power supply design, manufacturing and test.

Responsible for the design, administration, and planning of IT infrastructure across multiple sites to ensure company information assets are adequately supported, protected, and compliant with applicable standards.

• Perform computer and server administration duties including planning, installation, maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, and widespread support.
• Administer and support cloud‑based solutions such as Office 365.
• Support and design SharePoint file shares and lightweight site design.
• Evaluate, test, and deploy new server hardware and applications.
• Work with enterprise stakeholders to recommend innovative solutions.
• Interface with vendors to procure and maintain IT infrastructure.
• Identify and create IT policies and procedures.
• Document IT processes and create comprehensive physical and logical data flow diagrams.
• Provide off‑hours and weekend support as needed.
• Maintain up‑to‑date job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
• Prepare users by designing and conducting training programs.
• Work flexible hours and/or shifts, if required.
• Adhere to all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, state and federal regulations.
• Arrive to work on time and work each scheduled day, as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking or related work experience.
• 5 years of experience in Computer Systems Administration preferred.
• CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Server+, CCNA and MCSE certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of best practices for configuring and monitoring servers, endpoints, IoT devices, and authentication schemes with an emphasis on information security and compliance.
• Experience in configuration and administration of firewalls (Palo Alto preferred).
• Strong technical aptitude, complex problem solving, critical thinking, and oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to learn new skills, share with others, and apply skills as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality with sensitive external and internal information.
• Function successfully in both team and independent work environments.
• Experience with CMMC compliance controls highly desirable.
• Follow cybersecurity advisories and mitigate cyber risks on company systems.

Salary Range: $79,000 - $103,000 Annual
