Compensation: $23.73 – $33.29/hour DOE
Grant: Grant Funded
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM (flexible when needed)
Responsibilities- Promote awareness of prevention services and community involvement at external and internal events, public relations campaigns, and education events.
- Coordinate and organize activities to increase awareness of suicide risk, identify signs of suicide risk, and promote community wellness through cultural and social activities known to support resilience.
- Provide access to counseling services, train others in suicide prevention skills, and educate the community about suicide risk and prevention resources.
- Develop new activities based on community changes to support cultural needs, client-focused and family-centered approaches.
- Provide support and referrals to individuals and families at risk, link to ongoing services, and refer to mental wellness clinicians for assessment and early intervention.
- Prepare monthly narratives, data collection, analytical reports, and funding agency surveys as directed.
- Work a flexible schedule based on need.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Must communicate with confidence verbally and in writing; organize work to accomplish timely goals; maintain highly confidential information; be willing to teach, mentor, and guide youth; comfortable with telecommunication.
Licenses/CertificationsValid California driver’s license required at appointment and throughout employment; insurable under SIHC vehicle insurance policy at hire and thereafter; certifications or licenses appropriate to the position must be valid and maintained.
Physical and Personal RequirementsNormal office environment; sit or stand for long periods; reach, bend, climb, stoop, lift up to 25 lbs; repetitive hand movements; reliable transportation and car insurance required; travel as needed.
ComplianceEmployees must learn and comply with all SIHC policies and procedures. Mandatory participation in compliance training and reporting of suspected violations.
CharacterApplicants must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness, exhibit good judgment, follow instructions, and communicate professionally. Applicants must be highly confidential and respect confidentiality limits. Sensitive to client needs and knowledgeable about the local Indian community.
OtherApplicants must possess or be willing to attain thorough knowledge of mental health laws, rules, and regulations; pass pre-employment tuberculin skin test or x‑ray, drug and blood/urine screening; health adequate to perform duties; complete SIHC application and submit before close date. Position co‑located at the Alpine Clinic.
