Located in Templeton amongst the oak trees, Adventist Health Twin Cities has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. Comprised of a 122-bed acute care facility, our team provides exceptional care in emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical and outpatient services. Job SummaryOversees the surgical services clinical information system, including scheduling, charge functions, associated material management and report generation. Coordinates trainings and the implementation, maintenance and advancement of automated peri-operative clinical information management systems and associated supportive processes. Applies substantial knowledge and experience to perform a wide range of advanced activities and/or determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals; serves as working supervisor for team or work group.
Coordinates small program(s) with limited budget/impact.
Education and
Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent:
Required - Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience:
Preferred - Three years' technical experience:
Preferred - Experience working with peri-operative clinical information systems:
Preferred - Clinical experience as a surgical technologist or scrub nurse:

- Coordinates the implementation of automated clinical information and management systems, including software maintenance, user training, evaluations and support. Provides clinical informatics insight for peri-operative and system-related decision making.
- Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the quality and effectiveness of surgeon preference card systems and charge processes.
- Collaborates with department managers and associates to effectively and efficiently work with peri-operative team members and implement automated clinical information and management systems, like Surgi Net. Follows and reinforces case scheduling staff policies, rules and guidelines, as established by facilities and departments.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
