Job Description

We're looking for a detail‑oriented Tissue Technician to support our hospital's pathology department. You'll assist with autopsies, surgical pathology, and intraoperative consultations while preparing high‑quality tissue specimens and slides for pathologist review.

Key Responsibilities

+ Assist with autopsy setup, organ dissection, and specimen preparation

+ Perform gross examination of surgical specimens and prepare cassettes

+ Support frozen sections, bone marrow procedures, biopsies, and FNAs

+ Accession, verify, track, and prepare pathology samples

+ Maintain a clean, safe lab environment and manage supplies

+ File slides, manage reports, and troubleshoot lab equipment

Skills & Qualifications

+ Knowledge of histology, pathology procedures, and lab equipment

+ Strong biology/chemistry knowledge and specimen handling experience

+ Associate degree in lab science or medical laboratory technology (or equivalent)

+ Approved clinical lab training + at least 3 months experience in high‑complexity testing

Work Environment

You'll work in a fast‑paced pathology lab with 3 Tissue Techs, 2 PAs, and 8 Pathologists, processing 150-200 samples per day in a collaborative and supportive setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Woodland Hills, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
