The Colusa County Sheriff's Office is a secure and professional correctional facility dedicated to maintaining the safety and security of our community. The ideal Correctional Officer has the ability to think critically, displays a high level of integrity and trustworthiness, and possesses exceptional communication skills.

IMPORTANT If you have taken the written exam within the last twelve months and wish to transfer your T-Score received from the exam in lieu of re‑taking the exam, you must attach verification of your T-Score to your online application. Documentation must include the following information: date of exam, title of exam, T-Score received, and must be on agency letterhead.

• No experience is required. Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
• Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate valid driver's license.
• Ability to work irregular hours, holidays, and weekends.
• Current enrollment or successful completion of the Correctional Officer Core Course (preferred but not required).
• Possession of or ability to obtain a Penal Code 832 Certificate.
