The Ideal CandidateThe ideal Correctional Officer has the ability to think critically, displays a high level of integrity and trustworthiness, and possesses exceptional communication skills.
Selection Procedure- Applications will be accepted until Sunday, Match 15, 2026.
- BSCC Test will tentatively be held on April 8, 2026 (subject to change).
- Oral Interviews.
- Background Investigation and Psychological Exam.
- Medical Exam.

IMPORTANT If you have taken the written exam within the last twelve months and wish to transfer your T-Score received from the exam in lieu of re‑taking the exam, you must attach verification of your T-Score to your online application. Documentation must include the following information: date of exam, title of exam, T-Score received, and must be on agency letterhead.

Vacation parity:

- No experience is required. Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
- Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
- Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate valid driver's license.
- Ability to work irregular hours, holidays, and weekends.
- Current enrollment or successful completion of the Correctional Officer Core Course (preferred but not required).
- Possession of or ability to obtain a Penal Code 832 Certificate.
