As a Mortgage Closer, for one of our client projects, you will be responsible for the preparation of loan closing packages, Closing Disclosure (CD) preparation, including issuance of funds, closing instructions, and other tasks necessary to ensure the marketability of loans.
Essential Functions / Duties- Competently review loan files to ensure all conditions are cleared and the file is ready to close and fund.
- Review title commitment to ensure all title issues have been remediated prior to drawing closing documents.
- Perform accurate and complete input into the client’s system in preparation of drawing closing documents.
- Ensure accurate reporting when working through the loan pipeline.
- Coordinate delivery of closing documents to the settlement agent.
- Ensure all state requirements are met.
- Review underwriting conditions.
- Coordinate with the settlement agent to obtain final fees to prepare the Closing Disclosure.
- Ensure accuracy of instructions to settlement agents.
- Review the Closing Disclosure for compliance with closing instructions and balance with title.
- Review returned documents for accuracy and completeness prior to funding in escrow states.
- Correct loan amounts if necessary.
- Approve documents for funding.
- Authorize and arrange for the funding wire or check and meet any warehouse requirements.
- Assist with post‑closing corrections and audits.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; some college preferred; college degree desired.
- Intermediate to computer proficiency skills with MS Office, Excel and mortgage loan applications/software; LOS experience preferred.
- 3+ years of prior loan closing experience preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills; written and oral communication skills; ability to demonstrate control, flexibility and maintain quality and high productivity when dealing with customers.
- Ability to multi‑task and operate in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements a plus.
- Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
