Responsibilities
  • Be a trusted member of the engagement team providing various corporate tax compliance and consulting services to industry‑specific clients.
  • Lead client relationships on day‑to‑day tax matters with clients ranging from middle‑market to multinational.
  • Consult on technical matters and special projects in areas such as corporate and flow‑through taxation, accounting methods, and ASC 740.
  • Research tax matters, respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries, and make recommendations to clients.
  • Coordinate with specialty tax practices on complicated state and local, high‑net‑worth, international, research and development, and credit‑incentive matters.
  • Manage client engagement staffing, billings, collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.
  • Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with the goal of acquiring new clients, projects, and revenue.
  • Invest in professional development individually and through participation in firm‑wide learning and development programs.
  • Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, helping associates meet their professional goals.

What You Will Do
  • Serve as a valued tax business advisor, leading client relationships on day‑to‑day tax matters with a range of clients.
  • Consult on technical matters and special projects in corporate and flow‑through taxation, accounting methods, and ASC 740.
  • Research tax matters, respond to tax authority inquiries, and make recommendations for client consideration.
  • Coordinate with specialty tax practices on state and local, high‑net‑worth, international, R&D, and credit‑incentive matters.
  • Manage client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure profitability targets are met.
  • Network and build strong internal and external relationships to acquire new clients, projects, and revenue.
  • Participate in firm‑wide learning and development programs.
  • Support associate growth through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.
  • Engage in social activities and team outings that encourage work‑life balance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or law, or a similar degree in business; master’s or advanced degree desirable.
  • CPA or JD required.
  • Eight (8)+ years of experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services in a professional services firm.
  • Five (5)+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.
  • Strong management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, and demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.
  • Demonstrated ethical knowledge and commitment, sense of urgency, and a focus on quality and timely project completion.
  • Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.

Compensation range: $191,260 to $362,600. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
